Oddjob - Live in Bremen
Record cover and illustrations for Oddjob. Improvisation composes the visual sound and forms the graphic play in this cover for the Swedish jazz group Oddjob’s album Live in Bremen. The graphic improvisations can be seen as expressions of the jazz improvisation, as well as allusions in Oddjobb’s logotype.
The “typonotes” – the letters created to bear resemblance to notes – have been typographed to rendering the feeling of layers of notes – floating in each other and out of each other – creating a picture with rhythmic three dimensional effects, which, again, alludes to the improvisation’s play with shades of heavy-black-back-sounds in harmony with airy-white-foreground-sounds.

German Design Award, Nominee 2015
